PEDIATRICS:

The Right Start For a Bright Future
Keep your child's health on track with regular check-ups, immunization and treatment from the Ryan Center's Pediatric Department. All children are able to retain treatment in the Ryan Center's Pediatric department through the age of 21 years. The Ryan Adolescent/Teen Clinic (ages 13 to 21) is open Thursdays from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. (212) 316-7911


The Ryan Center for Women
Family planning and Reproductive Health Care: Make sure you have all the best advice when planning a family. Whether you need to know about healthy pregnancies or planning the size of your family, the Ryan Center can provide specialized information on reproductive health.

Gynecology Services
The Ryan Women's Health Department offers regular check-ups, PAP tests and breast examinations for our patients. If needed, GYN surgery can be performed at St. Luke's Roosevelt Hospital Center (SLRHC) Roosevelt site.

Prenatal and Obstetrical care
Nurture your baby from the womb by giving them the best possible care from the Ryan Prenatal Program. Regular check-ups from an early stage of pregnancy insures optimum health for you and your child. The Center also offers childbirth and breastfeeding classes, nutritional counseling, HIV testing and other services.

Births
Ryan Center patients can give birth at the SLRHC Roosevelt site.

Financial help
For mothers who don't have insurance and are in need of financial aid, the Ryan Center offers assistance with applications for the Prenatal Care Assistance Program (PCAP) and other financial assistance programs. (212) 316-7916


Coordinated, Comprehensive Care
Prevent or control serious illnesses like hypertension, asthma and diabetes by detecting them early. Regular check-ups by your Ryan practitioner are an important part of early detection and prevention of these and other conditions. Don't wait for problems to catch you by surprise - make an appointment today. Urgent help: If your medical need is urgent, you can be seen at walk-in without an appointment, however patients should be aware that wait times may be longer. (212) 316-7911


Ryan works with a wide range of specialists to provide you with the best and most comprehensive care possible. The specialties we offer include; allergy, cardiology, dermatology, gastroenterology, neurology, podiatry and urology. (212) 749-1820. Eating Well for Good Health
Clinical Nutrition Needs: Design a nutrition plan to suit your personal needs with the Ryan Center's Nutrition Department. A nutritionist will assess your dietary needs and give you advice about your eating habits as they relate to your doctor's recommendation. We offer individual consultations, cooking demonstrations, videos, recreational activities and group classes to learn about nutrition.

WIC is named for the people it serves - Women, Infants and Children.
A healthy diet is especially important for pregnant women and children. Eligibility is based on both family income and the health status of the mother and children. If eligible, you will receive free nutrition classes and counseling at the Ryan Health Center, along with food coupons to purchase nutritious foods at neighborhood supermarkets or grocery stores.

Take Pride in Your Smile
Whether it's a routine cleaning, help with dentures or check-ups for serious conditions like oral cancer, the Ryan Dental Health Department offers comprehensive dental services to keep you smiling. Dental health for children: Preventive dentistry for children is a focus of the Ryan Dental department and our staff will teach you how to take care of your teeth in order to avoid tooth decay and gum disease. Cost: Families without dental insurance will receive routine dental care and be charged according to their regular Ryan fee. Extensive dental procedures can be provided at a slightly higher rate, which is still about one third less than the cost of other dental providers in the community. Any additional charges will be completely explained prior to treatment and a payment plan can be arranged. (212) 316-7931


The Ryan Center - for a healthy mind:
Emotional support and mental well-being is a key component of your health. The Ryan Mental Health Department provides a confidential service for all members of the community - children, teens and adults. Staff and services: Our Ryan Mental Health department consists of a team of psychiatrists, psychiatric nurses, social workers, and mental health counselors. Services include: group, family or individual therapy; relationship and grief therapy; domestic violence counseling and safety planning; crisis intervention; psychiatric evaluation; psychopharmacology; case management; information and referrals. You're Never Too Old to be Healthy
It is a fact that as you get older, your body changes. But, it's also a fact than an older person doesn't have to be an unhealthy one. With regular check-ups and a little extra attention you can stay well and prevent or delay the onset of many age-related illnesses. The Ryan Geriatric Health Service has an on-site Geriatrician and specialists to provide preventive and routine health care for people over the age of 65. (212) 316-7911


The Ryan Center - reaching the whole community.
For schools: The School-Based Health Center Program provides comprehensive health care, health education and counseling in local public schools. Young people seen through this program are also referred to Ryan for those services that are not provided in their school. (212) 316-7956

For young people:
The Special Health Outreach to Urban Teens (S.H.O.U.T.) Mobile Medical Van Program
(Click here for locations & schedule) provides comprehensive primary care, including physicals, HIV counseling and testing, health education, mental health counseling, and contraceptive counseling to young people (ages 13 to 24) living in New York City. (212) 316-7912

Speaking to the community:
Through its Speakers Bureau, the Ryan Health Network's professional staff offer their time, free of charge, to speak to community groups about a variety of relevant, health related topics. Healthcare for those without homes:
The Ryan Center's Community Health Outreach Program provides primary medical care and social services on-site at several transitional residences and family shelters. (212) 316-8389
