Clinical
Nutrition Services
Your practitioner can refer you to
Ryan’s Nutrition Department
for information about good nutrition, or if you need help designing
or following a meal plan. A nutritionist will assess your dietary
needs, and will give you advice about your eating habits as they
relate to your doctor’s recommendations.
In addition to individual counseling,
the Nutrition Department
offers classes for patients to meet and discuss their progress
within a group setting. Classes include cooking demonstrations,
videos, and other recreational and supportive activities.
For an appointment, call 212

The
WIC Program
Since a healthy diet is especially
important for pregnant women and young children, a special nutrition
program is available to pregnant and post partum women, and to
young children up to five years of age. WIC
is named for the people it serves - Women,
Infants and Children - and eligibility for the program
is based on both family income and the health status of the mother
and children. If you are eligible for WIC,
you will receive free nutrition classes and counseling at Ryan,
as well as food coupons to buy nutritious foods at neighborhood
supermarkets or grocery stores.
The WIC
Program is located at 160 W. 100th St.
