Ryan
seeks opportunities to bring high quality health care services
to everyone in the Ryan
community, especially to those who otherwise might not get the
medical attention they need.
Through its Speakers
Bureau, Ryan’s professional staff
is available, free of charge, to speak to community groups about
a variety of health-related topics.

The School-Based Health Center Program provides comprehensive
health care, health education, and counseling services in local
schools. Young people seen through this project are also referred
to Ryan
for those services that are not provided in their school. For

The Crisis Response and Recovery Team, operating out of Ryan’s Mental Health Department, provides information, support, outreach, crisis intervention,
stress management, brief counseling, and grief counseling services
in these difficult times. The team is available to offer expert
consultation in the aftermath of the attack on the World Trade
Center on September 11th.
The Community Support Services Program (CSS) provides comprehensive
health care services for de-institutionalized and other residents
of local single room occupancy (SRO) hotels. These services
include medical and psychiatric care, social work services,
rehabilitation, and recreation therapy. For further information,

The Prevention
Education and Outreach Program provides
crucial, culturally appropriate HIV/AIDS education and prevention

The Community Health Outreach Program provides on-site,
comprehensive medical and social services to homeless persons
at several transitional residences and family shelters. For

The Special Health Outreach
to Urban Teens (SHOUT) Program provides comprehensive primary care, including
physicals, HIV counseling and testing, health education, mental
health counseling, and contraceptive counseling to young people
(ages 13 to 24) living in New York City. The service area includes
specific sites in Central Harlem, Clinton, and West Village neighborhoods.
